Who We Are

Washington's National Park Fund is the only philanthropic organization
dedicated exclusively to supporting
Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks
through charitable contributions.

Washington's National Park Fund is the official fund raising partner for Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic National Parks, operating under a Partnership Agreement between each national park and the Fund. Annually, the park superintendents submit a wish list of projects that, except for charitable contributions, would not otherwise happen. These include programs to encourage young people and their families to experience our national parks, enhance the visitor experience through trail and interpretive signage improvements, and expand the parks' scientific knowledge to both share with the public and incorporate into improved cultural and resource management decisions. From July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2011, 47 projects totaling $1,100,000 were made possible by donors to Washington's National Park Fund.

Originally incorporated in 1993, the Fund relinquished its independent, nonprofit status in 2003 to become an affiliate of the National Park Foundation. Washington's National Park Fund regained its own 501(c)(3) status in 2006 and has operated independently since March 1, 2007. Governed by a volunteer board of directors, the Fund is registered with the Washington Secretary of State's office You can also find the most recent IRS 990 and summary report on GuideStar. The Fund's offices are located near Tacoma, WA, in the city of Fircrest, where you can contact the Executive Director.
