Restore Volunteer Campground at Longmire
The Longmire Campground in Mount Rainier National Park has served as a base for volunteer operations since 2007, with 31 individual and two group sites, and eight platform tents. Washington's National Park Fund was able to fund $16,500 in 2011 for the restoration of this vital are of the park. This project will add picnic tables, fire rings, and an outdoor shelter/pavilion where groups can gather in inclement weather. The campground has the capacity to serve hundreds of volunteers each summer, supporting critical work in the park.

Picnic tables and trails like these in the Longmire Volunteer Campground will be replaced and updated.
