Reconstruct Monogram Lake Trail and Campsites

In North Cascades National Park, easy access off of the Cascade River Road and good fishing makes Monogram Lake a popular destination for local day hikers and overnight backpackers who come from around the Pacific Northwest. Restoration of the trail and campsites of this area will improve visitor satisfaction and safety, and also protect resources by reducing erosion, minimizing bare ground, and managing human waste. This project will improve campsites by including raised, rock-lined, gravel-filled tent pads. Trail access to camping will be improved, as well as adding signage and a composting toilet. Trail and camp revegetation and restoration will also be completed.

This project is expected to be finished in winter of 2011.
