Junior Stream Stewards
Washington's National Park Fund helped to expand this successfull youth outreach program in North Cascades National Park. Through hands-on science and habitat restoration activities, 450 seventh and eighth grade students, their teachers and community will connect with North Cascades National Park. Focus areas include salmon, water quality issues, research methods, native plants, aquatic insects, local geology, watershed restoration, and the value of national parks and other protected lands.
The support of Washington National Park Fund also helped to intergrate North Cascades National Park into the science curriculum at Cascade Middle School in Sedro-Woolley, bringing 150 student into the park for educational classes.
