Cascades for Kids

In 2008, Washington's National Park Fund provided $10,000 to create a dynamic, hands-on children's corner for the North Cascades National Park Visitor Center. The area includes a 23-foot mural, painted by former artist-in-residence Kathleen Durkin, featuring the landscape of the North Cascades. The activity area will also feature a Junior Ranger badge-shaped table, floor seating, custom lap desks, floor padding, improved lighting, and a bookcase filled with children's book, educational toys and park-themed games.
