Reconstruct Monogram Lake Trail and Campsites
In North Cascades National Park, easy access off of the Cascade River Road and good fishing makes Monogram Lake a popular destination for local day hikers and overnight backpackers who come from around the Pacific Northwest. Restoration of the trail and campsites of this area have improved visitor satisfaction and safety, and also protected resources by reducing erosion, minimizing bare ground, and managing human waste.
This project improved campsites by including raised, rock-lined, gravel-filled tent pads. Trail access to camping was improved, and improved signage and a composting toilet were also added. Trail and camp revegetation and restoration were also completed to really make this area accessible, user-friendly, and sustainable.
