Elwha Restoration Project Community Outreach
The removal of the Elhwa and Glines Dams on the Elwha River in Olympic National Park is the nation's largest dam removal to date. Olympic National Park is committed to education and outreach initiatives both locally and nationally with interactive, web-based information. This project, funded by Washington's National Park Fund, gave the park $34,320 to inform the public of the progress of this historical project, from start to finish.
Dam removal is set to begin in September, 2011. Check in with Olympic National Park often to stay up-to-date with the Elwha River Restoration project.
